Iran to rebuild nuclear facilities targeted in US, Israeli strikes
(MENAFN) Iran has vowed to rebuild nuclear facilities damaged in US and Israeli airstrikes earlier this year, while insisting its program is peaceful and not aimed at developing weapons.
President Masoud Pezeshkian said that although buildings and factories were destroyed, the knowledge of Iranian scientists remains intact, allowing reconstruction with greater capacity. He emphasized that most nuclear work in Iran serves civilian purposes such as medicine, agriculture, and industry.
The strikes targeted Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan sites, with the US and Israel framing them as preemptive measures. Tehran condemned the attacks as violations of its sovereignty.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has reported that Iran’s uranium enrichment reached 60%, below the 90% threshold for weapons, and confirmed no evidence of a nuclear weapons program.
